The vice-president of the Holy Capital’s (Makkah) municipal council, Fahad Al-Rouki, announced the granting of land to Egyptian football star, Mohammed Salah, on the occasion of his receiving the PFA player of the year award
In an exclusive to “Makkah” newspaper, Al-Rouki confirmed that he and his cousin, businessman Mubarak Al-Rouki, are donating a plot of land to Liverpool star Mohammed Salah. Known as “abo Makkah”, Salah named his daughter after the Holy City in a demonstration of the love and high esteem in which he holds the city
Al-Rouki also said, “Out of love, the people of Makkah, the vice-president of the Holy City’s municipal council, and businessman Mubarak Al-Rouki, grant a plot of land in Makkah to Mohammed Salah, on the occasion of his winning the PFA player of the year award”
He added, “This is something we are proud of; Abo Makkah is one of Makkah’s very own, because of his noble morality and pristine principles. Through his morals and influence on the ‘British Street’, he demonstrates to us the moderation of Islam and its message”
He pointed-out that Mohammed Salah has become a positive role model and acts like an ambassador for Muslims in the UK. And all of Makkah are proud of him and appreciate every role model in the Islamic World
He went on, “We in Makkah cherish, appreciate, and sponsor every role model. How could we do otherwise, when our prince, the paragon of princes, is exemplar of such practice. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal always recognises and honours exemplary individuals. We emulate him by granting Egyptian star Mohammed Salah (Abo Makkah), a plot of land. We do this out of appreciation for his advocacy for moderate Islam through his manners and scruples. And he represents the finest of Muslim youth, through his moral values, manners, and spectacular performance”
Al-Rouki stressed that this gift is part of the thanks, praise and, gratitude toward Salah, and is an affirmation of the love the people of Makkah hold for the great Egyptian people
